Day 11 Post Surgery

Well America,

I “thought” today might be the day I would got my staples removed, but Dr. Moseley (my co-worker and boss) wanted to see me back after my infection drained last week.  So I went in and boy was I glad to see my co-workers (the staff).  I attempted to go straight to the back room to see who the new kids were, but Mama Bear made my brother stop and turn me around.  OK, I thought, I can’t go to the back, so I’ll go check on Miss Nancy and Miss Karen to see if they even put me on the schedule today and what I could do to help out with paperwork and the filing.  They didn’t (they said I had the day off since I had a Dr. appt., go figure) so I just hung out a little, gave out many Myia kisses and received many pats, rubs, and scratches behind the ears…(did I mention earlier that I love the Spa & Retreat).

They decided they wanted to weigh me, something about that scale that I just don’t care for, and needless to say, they did NOT get my weight (a lady never tells).  Anyway, a room came open and away I went.  The floor felt pretty good so I laid there for a bit, then in comes Dr. Moseley.  I couldn’t stand myself any longer, I had to jump into her lap and just give up Myia kisses.  Then, in came Erin, my anesthesiologist (you guys remember her, right?).  She showed my mama that I can “sit”.  My mom was so thrilled, she had tried that several times but I didn’t want to play by her rules so she gave up.  Everything checked out OK.  Dr. Moseley said I was doing great and the limp was me building up my strength again after those stinky infections.  She watched me prance around and told Mom to call if she saw anything out of the norm (she knows Mama will call if I sneeze wrong, remember, Mom=worry wart).  I am to return Monday to have staples removed (woo-hoo, excuse me…ahem…woof-woof, like a big dog).

On the way out I saw some children and they saw me moving but didn’t realize I was a Tripawd until they came over to rub me on my head, being that I drug my brother into the waiting room.  They oooed and ahhhed over me and, of course, me being the lady I am, I took in every single minute of it.  On the way back home, I had my choice of window to stick my nose out of (no I wasn’t lying down, that’s not my cup of tea).  I rode all the way home standing up and maintaining my balance…all 5whole minutes.  I slept when I got home because Mama Bear had to work, then after she finished we took a stroll outside for a potty break.  I played tug-of-war with Mama and then we came in.

Once inside, she thought she would try the “sit” trick.  I gave in, she was smiling and dancing with me.  So sue me for loving it when she smiles, she (with the help of my big brother, is the one that provides the food, roof over my head and toys for me, so I thought that was the least I could do.  Then my brother came in, she had to show him that she could do it.  Then he tried.  I was getting so many treats.  It’s a wonderful thing to get rewarded for following directions, I love it.  OK, Tripawd fam, it’s off to the Master Bedroom I go, Mama Bear has work to do (Mid-Term time).  I’ll blog back in a couple of days, unless I do something really awesome and have to tell someone about it.

Until then…

2 Paws/Deuces/Peace Out,
Messy Myia
